Ten Years Ago

Ten years ago...

...it was a piece of paper...

...it was an envelope...

...it was $100...

...it was a step of faith.

No one knew...

...what that envelope...

...that piece of paper...

...that step of faith...

...would do...

On this day, ten years ago, my parents, two sisters and I all got into the car and drove over to the post office.
We drove up to that big blue mailbox on that quiet Sunday and mailed our first adoption application.
No one could have known what was taking place in that moment. No one could have known the path that lay ahead as we took that step of faith.
All we knew, was the Lord had a little girl out there who needed a home. Who needed a family.

Every journey starts with the first step...

but the race is run, with every step after.

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
Hebrews 12:1

Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty...
1 Corinthians 9:26
