The Window

Image
There's an old saying I've always wondered about.   "When God closes a door, He opens a window." Why did He open the window? Was it stuffy after He closed the door? Or did He just want to enjoy the scenery outside? This saying has been hung on refrigerators and walls for years. I think it's supposed to make me feel better. Oh no! He closed the door! Oh but look, He opened the window. I wonder why He opened the window? Does He expect me to go through the window? I think I'll stick with the Bible.   I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. John  10:9

Delay Your Hands

I’ve only played one nine hole round of golf in my whole life, so it’s safe to say I’m no expert on the game. But my dad and sister play a lot. They didn’t delay their hands; they reached right ...

When the World Ends, Let Me Know

Yet despite all this I still catch wind of enough things to know that some people see these presidential elections as some final chance for America to redeem herself spiritually. I know America’s spiritual health stinks, I won’t deny it, but I’d like to add, that the Lord is still on the same throne that He’s been on since the beginning of time and He is still at work in America and around the world. So before we call out the Y2K panic, and stock up on canned green beans because Christ is coming back tomorrow, let’s just stop and remember what Truth says. 20 “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, For wisdom and might are His. 21  And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding. 22  He reveals deep and secret things; ...
